People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) often face mental health issues, including depression and anxiety. Trauma in the lives of people with IDD can be detrimental to the physical and emotional well-being of these individuals. This session will help bring an understanding of the mental health issues that this population experiences. We will also talk about the key components of healing. Our guest speaker is Dr. Aiman Tohid!

Dr. Tohid is the director of clinical services at Makom. She is a medical doctor and a master’s in public health. She is trained in preventive medicine from the University of Southern California. Dr. Tohid has 15+ years of experience of working with people with IDD. Her goal is to improve health and health outcomes for people with IDD.
